ORIGIN
Where Is Noorjahan Mango Grown?
Noorjahan grows in the tribal forest areas of Alirajpur district in western Madhya Pradesh. The variety is cultivated by a small number of tribal farmers in a handful of villages. The combination of the specific soil, tribal knowledge of the trees, and the particular microclimate of this forested area creates the Noorjahan's unique character.
The trees are old — many are estimated to be 50–100 years old — and the fruit yield per tree is low, adding to its scarcity.
