VARIETY GUIDE

What Is Mallika Mango?

Mallika was bred at IARI New Delhi and released in 1975. Like Amrapali, it combines the sweet intensity of Neelum with the smooth flesh of Dasheri — but in a different genetic selection that results in a notably longer shelf life and a more export-oriented fruit. EXPORT

Mallika Mango in the USA

Mallika is one of very few Indian mango varieties officially approved and exported to the United States. Approved by the USDA in 2007 (alongside Alphonso and Kesar), Mallika export operations run from June to August. This approval reflects its exceptional uniformity, shelf life, and quality — making it the hybrid choice of the export trade.
